This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Read Me ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users ("you") of the Read Me mobile application. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy. The core functionality of our app runs entirely offline on your local device. We do not collect, upload, or store any of your personal PDF files, book contents, or reading history on our servers. We only request minimal storage permissions to display the files you choose. To support the free version of the app, we integrate third-party advertising services (Google AdMob) which may collect anonymized device data to serve relevant advertisements.

1. Data Collection and Permissions: Read Me requires access to your device's local storage (Photos/Media/Files) solely to scan the designated application folder, read PDF metadata, and render book pages on your screen. This access is strictly local; no file data is transmitted over the network, except for standard ad requests.
2. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob): We use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect certain information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, and app usage interactions to provide personalized or non-personalized advertisements. You can manage or opt-out of personalized advertising by visiting your Google Ad Settings on your device.
3. Data Security: We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, and transaction data stored on our app's internal settings.
4. Changes to This Policy: Read Me has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes. Your continued use of the app following the posting of changes will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Account Deletion

What happens to your data
- Deleted: Your account record and the personal data attached to it.
- Kept: Nothing, unless a law requires us to retain a specific record.
- Retention period: Deletion is completed as soon as the request is verified.
